Summer Melton Men's Shirt

For years, we’ve described the Modern Melton as the one shirt for every occasion. That’s still true, with one exception—its dense weave, first developed for mariners, can be too warm in Spring and Summer. To give you the technical versatility and weather resistance of Melton but with better comfort and breathability for warmer weather, we’ve made the new Summer Melton from a lighter-weight version of our dye-free, post-consumer recycled wool blend. A perfect companion for hikes, boat trips, or sundowns at camp, it’s also slightly more casual with a simple collar, snap buttons, a single chest pocket and a curved bottom hem. The double yoke lends additional strength, and a box pleat gives you plenty of freedom on the move. A durable, wear-it-for-anything design, it’s the shirt you’ll want to have on your back or in your pack—all summer long. 

12-oz 80% post-consumer recycled wool/20% nylon. Durable, breathable and naturally weather-resistant, this comfortable midweight blend is manufactured in a unique dye-free process for reduced environmental impact. Like all Melton wool garments, it starts out a touch stiff but softens quickly with wear.

The traditional tailored fit has a moderately slim cut; to wear the Summer Melton more casually, or to fit a more robust frame, we recommend moving up one size. Wash in cold water and hang to dry. To reduce energy and water use, we recommend washing only when necessary. Less washing also gives your garments a longer life.
